SPECIALTY SERVICES FOR PREGNANT AND PARENTING WOMEN

Women’s Residential Programs

Women’s Renaissance Center, located in Shelbyville, is designed to serve pregnant women suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders. The WRC specializes in providing a structured therapeutic environment that encourages growth, healthy coping skills, parenting education and a safe environment that establishes recovery and allows for the delivery of a baby free from illicit substances.

Addiction Recovery Center—Women’s Residential offers a 30-45 day residential program designed specifically for women. The program uses an evidence-based COR-12 model (12-Steps with medication assisted treatment) and trauma-informed treatment in a safe, structured environment that provides a solid foundation for recovery.

Women’s Outpatient Programs

Project Link is a FREE program for pregnant women who are using alcohol and/or drugs. The program provides case management and peer support services that can help mother and baby connect with community resources, including finding OB/GYN care, transportation to doctor visits, housing assistance, mental health and addiction treatment services, Education on the use of alcohol and/or drugs, and assistance in obtaining baby items.

Intensive Outpatient Program features intensive outpatient sessions for pregnant and parenting women. Mothers are welcome to bring their children (up to 18 months) and feed or attend to them as needed.

Occurs Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00p.m. and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sessions are held at 3703 Taylorsville Road, Suite 102, Louisville, Kentucky, 40220 or 130 Stonecrest Road, Suite 108, Shelbyville, Kentucky, 40065.

Transportation to and from the group is available and based on assessment of need.

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) aims to support and strengthen the caregiver-child relationship through interaction and observation for trauma-exposed children ages 0-5.

Staff member and puppetsIncredible Years is a training series for parents to increase parent-child connections and promote the child’s overall well-being. Participants gain important skills for reducing difficult behaviors.

Peer Support Services offer recovery-focused, person- centered support from individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness or substance use disorder and are persevering in their recovery.

Seven Counties Prevention Division

Our Regional Prevention Center offers a FREE two-hour class for women of all ages that covers how tobacco, alcohol and other drugs affect children during pregnancy and while breast-feeding. Pregnant attendees have the opportunity to win free baby items throughout the class and receive a gift card upon completion.
