Service Worker/Housekeeping - JADAC

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs general housekeeping and light maintenance duties to ensure the cleanliness, upkeep, and safety of assigned areas.
  • Performs routine housekeeping duties for residential facilities as needed.
  • Supervises and directs the work of assigned co-workers, as needed.
  • Assists, trains, and inspects, as needed, the work of Service Worker I assigned to same project.
  • As required, performs ground keeping maintenance such as mowing, trimming, weeding, and inspecting organization’s properties and project site areas.
  • As required, greets clients and/or visitors, directs them to appropriate office or personnel, or provides them with requested directions or assistance.
  • As required, maintains building security, ensuring doors are locked at appropriate times and lights and equipment are shut off at the end of the day.

Performance of specific job functions will vary in nature depending upon assigned department or working area.

EDUCATION

  • Some educational training is required—but less than a high school diploma.

EXPERIENCE

              

  • Three to six months’ experience in housekeeping/grounds keeping or related area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position requires lifting 50 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. 
  • Involves considerable bending, stooping, and standing in the regular performance of tasks. 
  • Routine exposure to extreme levels of temperature, moisture/wetness, air/noise pollution, or chemical gases and substances.

Within the bounds of their respective job descriptions, all staff are expected to exercise principle-centered leadership, focused on customer service responsiveness, with a continuous quality improvement orientation. Additionally, all staff are expected to develop a working knowledge of and follow all policies and procedures related to safety management and other Joint Commission standards.
