Getting help early can make all the difference. iHope is here to offer support, understanding, and specialized care for young people facing the early stages of psychosis. With the right treatment and support, recovery is not just possible—it’s expected. Our goal is to connect individuals and families to the resources and services they need as early as possible, helping young people return to school, work, and social activities with confidence.

At Seven Counties Services, we understand how challenging it can be when you or someone you love begins experiencing unusual thoughts, behaviors, or sensations. Our iHope program provides early intervention and specialized care to individuals ages 15-30 experiencing their first episode of psychosis.

What is Psychosis?

Psychosis is a condition that affects how a person perceives reality. It can include:

  • Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that others do not)
  • Delusions (strong beliefs in things that aren’t real)
  • Confused or Disorganized Thinking
  • Changes in Behavior and Mood

If these signs are noticeable in yourself or a loved one, help is available.

How iHope Can Help

Our dedicated, multidisciplinary team offers:

  • Person-Centered Treatment: Tailored care to meet individual needs.
  • Family Psychoeducation: Helping families understand and support their loved one.
  • Peer Support: Guidance from those who’ve experienced similar situations.
  • Case Management: Assisting with navigating services and resources.
  • Community Outreach and Education: Building understanding and reducing stigma.

Recognizing Early Signs

Early identification makes a difference. Watch for these signs:

  • Behavioral Changes: Withdrawal from social activities, decreased motivation, and impulsive behaviors.
  • Functional Changes: Struggles at school or work, reduced engagement in previously enjoyable activities.
  • Perceptual Changes: Heightened sensitivity, experiencing sensations others don’t perceive.

Supporting Someone with Psychosis

If you’re supporting someone experiencing psychosis:

  • Be Reassuring: Let them know they’re not alone and that help is available.
  • Stay Calm and Open-minded: Listen actively, without judgment.
  • Encourage Coping Skills: Suggest activities like walking, mindfulness, or engaging in hobbies.
  • Connect with Professional Help: Contact our iHope team for guidance and support.
