On August 15, 2024, Seven Counties Services held its Annual Dinner—a special evening dedicated to celebrating our leadership, board of directors, donors, volunteers, exceptional employees, and community partners. During the event, we honored outstanding partners with our four Community Behavioral Health Awards, recognizing those who exemplify our core values of Compassion, Intentionality, Resilience, and Equity. This year’s honorees include:
The Community Behavioral Health Equity Award: Metro United Way
The Community Behavioral Health Equity Award honors those who have made exceptional strides in promoting equity, fairness, and inclusivity within the field of behavioral health. This award highlights the crucial work of eliminating disparities and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to quality mental health and substance use services.
Metro United Way has been a pillar of transformation in the Greater Louisville area for over a century, serving Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, and Shelby counties in Kentucky, as well as Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties in Indiana. By uniting the collective power of donors, volunteers, thought leaders, experts, nonprofits, and government entities, Metro United Way drives lasting, positive change across its seven-county region. With an unwavering focus on nurturing thriving children, empowering strong households, and fostering an equitable community, Metro United Way exemplifies leadership in creating a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
The Community Behavioral Health Award for Compassion: Louisville Urban League
The Community Behavioral Health Award for Compassion recognizes those who have shown extraordinary empathy, understanding, and care for individuals facing mental health, substance use, or developmental disability challenges. This award celebrates the powerful role that compassion plays in enhancing health outcomes and creating a supportive environment for those navigating behavioral health issues.
The Louisville Urban League, a nonprofit and nonpartisan community service organization, is dedicated to combating racism and its harmful effects on the community. Serving Jefferson, Shelby, Oldham, Bullitt, and Hardin counties in Kentucky, as well as Floyd, Harrison, and Clark counties in Indiana, the Louisville Urban League is committed to helping African Americans and other marginalized groups achieve social and economic equality. Through direct services and advocacy, this compassionate organization is devoted to building a more equitable and just society for all.
The Community Behavioral Health Award for Intentionality: La Casita Center
The Community Behavioral Health Award for Intentionality honors those who have shown outstanding dedication to promoting mental, physical, and spiritual well-being through purposeful and deliberate actions. This award recognizes individuals or organizations that have a deep understanding of the significance of mental health and have implemented targeted initiatives, programs, or practices that positively impact the lives of others within the behavioral health community.
La Casita Center is devoted to uplifting Louisville’s Latinx community through education, empowerment, advocacy, and wellness. The organization works with intention to create a thriving community built on mutual support and respect. As a feminist-led, Latinx-led grassroots organization, La Casita Center’s staff and board mirror the rich diversity of the community they serve, both in language and culture. Proudly offering services in four languages, La Casita Center is deeply committed to fostering inclusivity and empowerment for all.
The Community Behavioral Health Award for Resilience: The Pete Foundation
The Community Behavioral Health Award for Resilience is given to those who have shown remarkable strength, adaptability, and perseverance in the face of challenges within the behavioral health field. This award underscores the critical role resilience plays in mental health recovery, overcoming obstacles, and inspiring hope for those affected by behavioral health issues.
The Pete Foundation is a dedicated community focused on empowering today’s youth to lead happy, mentally healthy lives, free from the inner turmoil caused by depression and anxiety. By advocating for a shift in society’s perception and acceptance of mental illness, The Pete Foundation helps individuals understand their struggles, build resilience, and equips them with the tools they need to seek support.
Seven Counties Services is inspired by the remarkable achievements and dedication of our award recipients! Metro United Way, Louisville Urban League, La Casita Center, and The Pete Foundation have each demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing community behavioral health through their unwavering compassion, intentionality, resilience, and pursuit of equity.
