Addiction Recovery Services: Where Purpose Meets Passion
At Seven Counties Services, we understand that the journey to addiction recovery is one that requires compassion, resilience, and often, a shared experience. Many members of our Addiction Recovery team have walked this path themselves, transforming their own stories of hope and strength into a purpose-driven career. Here, you’ll find a team dedicated to guiding others through drug and alcohol treatment and the life-changing work of addiction recovery.
Below are reflections from some of our dedicated team members, showcasing why they chose careers in addiction treatment and the deep personal meaning it brings them each day.
Bridging the Gap in Addiction Recovery
“What made me want to work in addiction recovery is really a little bit of my own early experiences as a recovering person. When I reached out to get help back then, there was very little of it available. We have a shortage of therapists, especially those trained specifically to deal with substance use disorders. What I’d like to see is us helping get people trained and informing them about what this profession is.”
Derek Priester, our Vice President of Addiction Services, consistently brings awareness to the challenges and importance of having a knowledgeable, empathetic team to meet the demand for addiction treatment and support. At Seven Counties Services, we’re committed to bridging this gap.
Holistic Approach to Drug and Alcohol Treatment
“What makes coming to work meaningful every day is the opportunity to empower the women I work with to know they are more than a diagnosis or a substance use problem—they’re human beings with a right to live the life of their dreams.”
For Nichole Harrison, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, at our Women’s Addiction Recovery Center, the holistic approach we take at Seven Counties Services empowers her to truly be there for the women who need addiction treatment. Through the compassion of team members like Nichole, we support each individual in treatment by helping them see themselves as more than their addiction.
Dedication to Helping Others
“Coming into work is meaningful because I get to not only help others on their path but it’s also a process for me. I was in active addiction for 25 years, and when I got sober, I knew working in recovery was what I needed to do. Helping other people through their brokenness and suffering is something that makes this job so worth it.”
The journey to recovery for Morgan Isaacs, a member of our Addiction Recovery Team, now fuels her dedication to helping others and reflects the passion and empathy that drives our team. Her experience is a powerful reminder of the impact addiction recovery specialists can have on the lives of those they serve.
The Recovery Transformation Journey
“What made me want to work in addiction recovery is the passion you see in people who are making that change. They’re stepping into a recovery process, making such a drastic 180-degree transformation. That’s what attracted me to work in this field and serve the people we get to work with.”
For Cory Moneymaker, our Division Director of Addiction Services, the recovery transformation journey is inspiring. Witnessing these life changes fuels his commitment to drug and alcohol treatment and motivates our team every day.
The Power of Community Support in Recovery
“When I got to Seven Counties Services, I saw other women who had been through the same things that I was going through. They let me know that there was a solution and they would help me find it. Seven Counties Services never gave up on me; they allowed me the space and created the safety that I needed to grow into the woman I am today. I now live on my own and get to be part of several different organizations in support of this community. I also now get to work for the same organization that helped save my life when I couldn’t and wouldn’t.”
Anteshia, one of our Adult Peer Support Specialists, reminds us of the true impact community support has on both clients and team members. It’s a strong example of how addiction recovery transforms not only individuals and families but also communities.
Making a Lasting Impact in Addiction Recovery
“We have a strong, close-knit team that works really well together. I see the passion they bring, and it drives me to come to work every day because I know everyone is showing up for the same reasons.”
As a Director and Unit Manager at our Women’s Addiction Recovery Center, Allison Bryant credits her team for the camaraderie and passion they bring to their roles. With a shared mission and a deep-rooted commitment to helping others, we support each other to make a lasting impact in addiction recovery.
